What to expect:

  • Ayurveda emphasizes balance in all areas of your life. I'll inquire into your personal and medical histories, including daily diet, routines and habits, current medications and supplements, your relationships, exercise routines, job/profession, your sleep quality and any other information you want to share.

  • I couple the information from your online form and any other information you have shared with other diagnostic tools, such as physical health observations (skin, eyes, tongue). As an Ayurvedic Counselor, I'm able to detect detailed information about your current mental and physical states through the many layers of Ayurveda. For clients meeting with me online instead of in person I'll be determining your current state of health along with any imbalances using a detailed Wellness Questionnaire supported with pictures of your face, tongue, eyes and body.

  • All this information provides valuable information about the current condition of your body and mind. It also helps me develop an Ayurvedic Holistic Health Plan unique to you. Over the course of your sessions, we will build on this plan, adding new routines gradually, so you will have time to incorporate them into your life.

  • When people follow their personal Ayurvedic Holistic Health Plan, amazing things happen. Over and over I have witnessed these profound and life-altering changes. Every body has the capacity to support itself. It just needs the right environment to restore.

During the consultation process you will receive:

TMK Eastern Medicine Background:

TMK began studying Traditional Vietnamese and Chinese medicine at the Hai-Thuong School in Saigon, Vietnam in 2012. From the very beginning of her practice, the teachings of Hâi Thuong Lê Hû’u Trac (a Vietnamese medical practitioner 1720-1791) have greatly influenced her. His methods were very simple and strictly based on the Yin/Yang balance of each individual. Through these methods, one can really understand the energy network and the Yin/Yang balance in the human body. TMK supports clients according to their general energy situation. Sino-Vietnamese pulse diagnosis (pulsology) enables TMK to evaluate the condition of the body as a whole, to detect possible deficiencies in Yin, Yang or in both Yin and Yang, to consider the functions which may be blocked or hindered, as well as the meridians related to these imbalances. Through the seasonal reduction points, tonification points and other specific points, one can correct the observed imbalances at the level of the functions and in the related meridians. The application of the key-points of the extraordinary meridians allows for the restoration of the global order and balance in the whole body.

TMK continued her education in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Yoga in 2013 in Southeast Asia, and later at the Narayana Ayurveda and Yoga Academy in Austin, Texas. She graduated in 2018 upon her return stateside as an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor and Ayurvedic Yoga Practitioner, and is board certified through the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Her teachers and mentors at the academy include Dr. JV Hebbar (BAMS), Monika Singhal (Ayurveda Practitioner), Dr. Mithun Baliga, Dr. Suvarna Daherkar (BAMS), Dr Priyanka Rajan (BAMS), Pandit Atul Krishna Das (Narayana Ayurveda and Yoga Founder, Vedic Astrologer, Ayurvedic Practitioner, and Sanskrit Pundit), and Manjuali B. Groover, (Narayana Ayurveda and Yoga Academy Founder, Ayurveda Practitioner, National Ayurvedic Medical Association Board Member, TAPAS Board Member - Texas Association of Ayurveda Professionals).

TMK's Ayurvedic practice focuses on a clients constitution, (Prakruti and Vikruti), dosha, agni, āma and dhātu general imbalances. TMK also practices health promotion by preparing custom-fit Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle programs, detox and rejuvenation plans and herbal formulas for her clients as defined in Vedic and other classical Sanskrit authorities in the Indian tradition. Additionally, clients interested in a long-term connection to Ayurveda will have opportunities to take classes and workshops as well as receive treatments including a deeper instruction in Sanskrit; Vedic Astrology history, Vatsu, philosophy, and principles of Ayurveda; herbal formulations for specific imbalances; foundation in Anatomy & Physiology related to Ayurveda, Ayurvedic Nidan & Cikitsa; therapeutic modalities and body work; Panchakarma detoxification theory and practice; and Ayurvedic Dravya. Please note that in Ayurveda we do not refer to the study of Ayurvedic Herbs as Herbology or Herbalism. We use the word "Dravya" which means that Ayurveda refers to any therapeutic substance and its energetics whether it is a plant, mineral or rock whereas Western Herbalism does not. Shilajit is an example of this as it is a substance that oozes out of a rock.
